KLEENLine & Shuttleworth Integrate Seamlessly into PMMI's Packaging Line of the Year of 2014

Providing a turnkey solution for handling bagged dental dog treats, Kliklok-Woodman needed to integrate a material handling solution that was not only sanitary and flexible, but gentle as well, so not to damage the product or the product packaging. Weston Paul, Sales Engineer for KLEENLine and Shuttleworth, knew that KLEENLine’s sanitary capabilities, and Shuttleworth’s gentle handling capabilities were a perfect solution to bring to the table.
The first application, was to provide orientation for the bagged product from 4 bag dischargers to reach two manual packing stations, while at the same time, transport formed cartons to the same station for packing. Using fabric and modular plastic belting, KLEENLine provided orientation to the bags coming from the four Bosch bag loaders and balanced the products into two lanes while transporting them to the packing station. Kliklok-Woodman formed the carton and KLEENLine brought the cartons out to introduce the specialty carton to the same manual pack stations where the operators mated them together.
Once packed, Shuttleworth provided a low pressure two-lane gated combiner to merge the packaged products into a single lane without marring or damaging the graphics on the printed container. The single lane then fed into a single closer by Kliklok.
Finally, KLEENLine provided a stainless table top case conveyor to transport the packaged product to an automated case packer by Combi.
